Did you know that the hugely successful Korean webtoon “Solo Leveling” is getting a game adaptation? Directed by Netmarble, this official adaptation will be called “Solo Leveling: ARISE”, and fans around the world couldn’t be more excited for its release.
For those already in the know, “Solo Leveling” is set in a fictional world where chosen individuals called “hunters” fight monsters to save the world from destruction. Our protagonist is Sung JinWoo, nicknamed “The Weakest Hunter in All of Mankind”, who suddenly gains the special power of indefinitely increasing the level of his skills. Described as an action RPG, “Solo Levling: ARISE” is creating quite a stir on various online discussion forums such as Reddit and Discord. It is scheduled to be released in 2023, and so far, an official promotional video and live-action posters have been revealed.
In addition, gameplay videos of what we imagine to be the beta version of the game have also been submitted by players, and as far as we can tell, it already looks fantastic, to say the least.

The most exciting part, however, is that the game is also releasing exclusive lore reviewed by the original manhwa creators (DUBU(REDICE STUDIO), DISCIPLES(REDICE STUDIO), Chugong, h-goon) to delve deeper into our central protagonist Sung JinWoo’s past.

This story deals with the disappearance of Sung JinWoo’s father, his mother’s illness when she succumbed to the Eternal Slumber due to her being unable to adapt to mana, and finally, the origin of her powers. Eternal Slumber has no cure, but victims’ lives can only be sustained by extremely expensive equipment powered by Essence Stones. With an absent father and a sick mother, Sung JinWoo knew she had to do something. The web soap opera, with posts released on the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month, will explore this part of Sung JinWoo’s past and trace the birth of “The Weakest Hunter in All Mankind”.
In addition to Sung JinWoo, special story chapters of other main characters like Baek YoonHo and Cha HaeIn are also being serialized. Together they are called the “Secret Files” series.
